St. Louis TV News anchor Vic Faust was caught in an off-air rant insulting and making sexist remarks to his radio co-host last week while appearing on a local radio station.
During the anonymously recorded rant, Faust took issue with his female co-host Crystal Cooper's weight and her parenting skills. Faust has anchored at Fox affiliate KTVI since 2015.
The confrontation quickly escalated off-air: Faust begins using foul language and tells Cooper several times to “shut the (expletive) up” and “shut your (expletive) mouth.”
He calls her “fat nasty ****,” and repeatedly refers to her by using a curse word most commonly directed at women. Then at one point, Faust says “you’re nothing” and “you’re trash.”
The on-air argument starts around 1:48:00 before they cut to break before the audio recording of the tirade off the air.
Faust’s verbal meltdown happened Sept. 13 near the end of his 8-10 a.m. shift at hard-rock station KFNS (100.7 FM), where he (was) a weekday host.
According to the Post-Dispatch, Faust and Cooper were "engaging in an uncomfortable exchange after Faust had become angered by Cooper’s criticism of his computer skills, something that had come up on a previous show."
On the air, he called her a liar and said she was stupid for bringing up a topic he considered dumb. Several news outlets are reporting that the show is now on hold and that Faust was let go from the station after 7 years of working there. Spokespersons from the station have declined to comment on the incident.
Serves you right douchebag.
